Aerated reed bed with reuse for Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen (HOWEST) in Kortrijk

Since July 2020, the wastewater of 1,700 students and staff in the new building of Hogeschool Howest in Kortrijk has been treated in a Phytoair® system from Rietland. The purified water is then recovered for flushing the toilets in the building. Excess waste water is discharged into the sewage system. This is therefore a demand-driven system: only the water that is effectively reused is purified. Read more about it in this article.
